THE STUDIO BEHIND THE WORK
Insyde Studio is a full-service interior design and architecture practice based in Bangalore. We’ve spent thirteen years creating residential and commercial spaces for clients who refuse to compromise. Not on quality. Not on authenticity. Not on how their homes and offices make them feel.
We’re small enough to know every client personally. Large enough to manage complex projects from concept to completion. We work across residential villas, apartments, and heritage properties. We design corporate offices, restaurants, retail spaces, and hospitality environments. What connects all of this work is a single principle: design should serve the life you’re actually living, not the life you think you should be living.

WHY WE STARTED
In 2012, the three founders observed something in Bangalore’s design landscape. Talented architects and designers existed. Quality craftspeople existed. But there was a gap between them. Projects got fragmented across multiple vendors. Clients managed timelines and quality. Details fell through cracks. The result was spaces that looked good in photographs but felt disconnected from the people living in them.
We started Insyde Studio to close that gap. To create a practice where design thinking, material expertise, and execution precision lived under one roof. Where the person who designed your space would also oversee its construction. Where listening came before sketching. Where your life shaped the design, not the other way around.
WHAT WE’VE LEARNED
Thirteen years of projects teach you things no classroom can.
We’ve learned that Bangalore’s monsoon requires specific material choices. That families cook differently depending on their background. That a master bedroom’s acoustic quality matters as much as its aesthetics. That commercial spaces shape how people behave and feel. That heritage buildings have stories worth preserving, not erasing.
We’ve learned that affluent clients have usually been disappointed before. They’ve paid premium prices and received materials that degraded within two years. They’ve worked with designers who didn’t listen. They’ve managed chaotic construction processes. They’re looking for someone different. Someone trustworthy. Someone willing to discuss cost honestly and deliver on every promise.
We’ve learned that the most meaningful projects happen when a client trusts us enough to be vulnerable. To share not just their aesthetic preferences but their routines, their values, their traditions, their fears about how a space will function. That vulnerability is what allows us to design something that actually fits.
HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT
We integrate architecture and interiors
Most studios treat them separately. We see them as one conversation. How a room is proportioned affects how materials land. How light enters a space shapes the interior palette. We think about both simultaneously, which creates coherence most interiors lack.
We understand Indian homes specifically
We design kitchens for families who cook daily with specific techniques and ingredients. We create pooja rooms that honor spiritual practice with material intelligence. We integrate outdoor living in ways that acknowledge Bangalore's climate. We don't apply Western design templates to Indian homes.
We source with accountability
We don't hand clients a material sample and hope it performs as promised. We've tested materials in Bangalore's climate over years. We know which finishes hold up. Which woods move. Which stones stain. Which fabrics fade. We source from suppliers we trust and we warranty our recommendations.
We manage execution visibly
Production happens on site and at the factory. You can visit anytime. You can see progress. You can ask questions. We hold weekly site meetings. We document everything. We solve problems before they compound. By handover, there are no surprises.
OUR APPROACH TO LUXURY
Luxury, in our view, has nothing to do with price tags or brand names. It’s about intention. It’s about materials chosen because they perform and age beautifully, not because they’re expensive. It’s about custom joinery designed specifically for how you use a space, not off-the-shelf solutions. It’s about lighting that creates atmosphere and serves function. It’s about craftsmanship visible at close range—the quality of a finish, the precision of a joint, the care in installation.
This kind of luxury is durable. It ages well. It doesn’t announce itself. It simply feels right.

We’re led by three founding partners: an architect trained in sustainable design, an interior designer with expertise in material culture, and a project manager who has overseen construction across residential and commercial sectors. We work with a core team of designers, architects, and specialists. We partner with craftspeople and vendors we’ve vetted over thirteen years.
We hire slowly. We retain people for decades. We believe continuity creates better work.

Surendra NV
CEO & Co-Founder
Having a PG Certification in Sales & Marketing from IIM Indore, MBA from PESIT Bangalore, VT University & Graduation in Business Management, his passion for creating businesses which offer great value for its consumers has driven him into Entrepreneurship.
He has been leading Insyde Studio Innovations LLP (formerly known as Urbanest) for the last 4 years and has produced phenomenal growth in the Premium Interiors and Construction Services.
He was previously the Director & CEO of the company Materialtree.com which he Co-founded in 2012. Materialtree.com was the first Online Marketplace Exclusively for Construction Materials in India.
Materialtree.com is a Pioneer in this domain currently catering across South India. Business Strategy and Marketing is his forte and he has been leading the team since it’s inception.
He also has Corporate sales & marketing, Business Strategy experience for over 8 years which include a Construction Project Management Consultancy company TPMC which he Co-founded.
TPMC has successfully completed more than 2 million Sft of Built Up area across verticals.
Shatrughan Shetty is an accomplished architect and construction management professional with over 20 years of experience across India and the Middle East (UAE). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from BMS School of Architecture, Bangalore, and a Master’s in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Reading, UK.
He has led and delivered a wide range of projects, including government institutions, five-star hotels, high-rise apartments, malls, villas, commercial offices, television studios, exhibitions, and industrial facilities. Known for his expertise in design coordination, project execution, and cross-functional leadership, he brings a well-rounded approach to complex, large-scale developments
